According to Sidney Deane’s collection of entries published in a 1921 edition of American Journal of Arachaeology, the ancient Syro-Anatolian cult of storm god “Zeus Dolichenus has close affinities with the Iranian god Ahura-Mazda, and his worship was associated with the [Iranian-based Roman version of] Mithraic cult.”
